LIRMM laboratory

The Montpellier Laboratory of Informatics, Robotics and Microelectronics (LIRMM) is attached to Montpellier University and to the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). Its activity is developed within three scientific research departments (Informatics, Microelectronics, Robotics), 19 team-projects and several common services.

LS2N Laboratory

The laboratory of digital sciences of Nantes (LS2N) is a joint research unit resulting from the grouping of the IRCCyN (Communication and Cyber Research Institute) and LINA (Laboratory of Informatics of Nantes) with a strong scientific talent at the heart of digital sciences.

Plenary speakers

Nicolas Andreff est Professeur de l'Université de Franche-Comté (Besançon, France) où il développe une activité portant sur la microrobotique médicale.

Sébastien Briot is the head of the ARMEN research team at Nantes Digital Science Laboratory (LS2N), UMR CNRS 6004, France.

Tobias Bruckmann is currently working as a Lecturer and Research Group Leader at the Chair of Mechatronics, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, where he is leading a research team with experiences in numerous fields of robotics, including cable-driven parallel manipulators, construction machines and human-machine interaction.

Marco Carricato is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering. He is the Coordinator of the Ph.D. Degree in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences at the University of Bologna.

Stéphane Caro is the head of the “Robots and Machines for Manufacturing Society and Services” (ROMAS) team at Nantes Digital Science Laboratory (LS2N), UMR CNRS 6004, France.

Ahmed Chemori is a tenured research scientist in Automatic control and Robotics for the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), at LIRMM laboratory specialized in nonlinear (adaptive and predictive) control and their real-time applications in robotics

Dr Olivier COMPANY is with LIRMM for 20 years and is involved in the design and optimization of parallel mechanisms. His previous work was mainly focused on fast parallel robots for pick and place with articulated moving platform such as H4 or Quattro.

Eric Courteille is an associate professor at the Laboratory of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (LGCGM) at INSA, Rennes, France.

Marc Gouttefarde is a CNRS Senior Research Scientist with the LIRMM, Montpellier, France. His main research interests include the analysis, design and control of cable-driven parallel robots.

Nicolas Rojas is a Lecturer in the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London, London, UK, where he leads the Robotic manipulation: Engineering, Design, and Science Laboratory (REDS Lab).
