PlasmoExpress is a project of the JCJC program of the french National Research Agency. It aims at developing new computational approaches to address crucial issues relative to the regulation of gene expression in Plasmodium falciparum (malaria). The objectives are to bring new insights into the general mechanisms that control the expression in P. falciparum, as well as to specifically study precise biological processes and mode of action of specific drugs.
PlasmoExpress is a collaboration between the team Methods and algorithms for bioinformatics of the LIRMM (Montpellier) and three biology laboratories involved in the study of P.falciparum: the Eric Maréchal's team (Grenoble), the Henri Vial's team (Montpellier), and the Karine Le Roch's laboratory in the University of California (Riverside).
